Whether you're in the classroom, lecture hall, conference room, or any other meeting place, you'll have the right combination of software, hardware, and accessories to get you up and running, if not sprinting.
Foremost in the bundle is the Livescribe 8GB Echo Smartpen, an extremely innovative tool for digital notetaking. Used along with Livescribe's special dot paper notebooks (a starter notebook is included with this Pro Pack) and when writing in ink, the pen is able to record handwritten notes digitally. These notes can be downloaded to your computer and converted to fully searchable text, using the included MyScript software.
Additionally, the Smartpen records audio via its integrated microphone and syncs that audio with your notes -- allowing you to directly pinpoint and access the audio that was being recorded at the time that you were writing a given note. Specifically, when you tap on the note with your Smartpen in playback mode, it locates the position where you are tapping and starts to play back the audio that was recorded at that position. All told, you'll have up to 8GB of data that you can store in the pen.
Along with the 8GB Echo Smartpen and its built-in mic, you'll have the Echo 3-D Recording Premium Headset. It can play back your recorded audio as headphones or it can record 360° binaural audio with its two built-in mics. While you can always record with the Smartpen, the headset's left and right mics are superb for recording within large lecture halls or conference rooms. Using the Smartpen or the headset, you'll be able to record in a variety of environments and sync the audio seamlessly with your notes.
The included Livescribe Desktop software runs on your computer and is extremely dynamic. You can view your notes, listen to your recorded audio, export your notes or audio, create custom notebooks from previous note-taking sessions, and manage other Smartpen applications. Livescribe Desktop is also a portal to Livescribe Online, where you can upload and share content, purchase new applications and paper products, and connect to the Livescribe Smartpen user community. As part of the Pro Pack, you will have 500MB of personal storage at Livescribe Online for privately keeping your notes and audio.
Also included is Livescribe's MyScript application. It converts your handwritten notes to text and converts your drawings, shapes, or tables to print. Afterwards, MyScript allows you to edit your text or print and export that text or print into a Word or an email application. You can save that print or text as a picture file.
The Livescribe Pro Pack includes two Smartpen caps as well as two ink cartridges (including one already installed in the pen). For the sake of portability, also included is a portfolio for carrying your Smartpen and notebook wherever you go.
